About the project

A student project recreating the famous rendering technique of Wolfenstein 3D: a real-time simulation of a character's vision inside a labyrinth. Raycasting is used to render the walls and floor.

Based on a Slender Man theme, the player has to find 8 pages. But be careful, the Slender Man is coming for you...

Technical highlights

  • Maps are randomly generated with each new game
  • Game engine optimized with my own calculations, and multithreaded
  • Scrolling mini-map, influenced by power-ups
  • Mirror effect and fun game modes
  • Player collisions, and wall coloring based on player orientation and distance
  • AI with a pathfinding algorithm to follow the player
