About the project

Abyssum is a local multiplayer 2D shoot 'em up with horizontal side-scrolling, playable by up to 4 players.

  • Each player earns points by hitting and killing enemies, and loses points upon dying.
  • There is no game over: the goal is to get the highest score possible.
  • Pick-ups spread throughout the level let players use an ability to disrupt each other.
  • Scores are published to an online leaderboard, both in game and on the website.

My role

We made this shoot 'em up alongside our classes, in a team of seven, over one month: the equivalent working time of a big game jam. I was one of the two programmers: Suliac and I worked together evenly on all aspects of the game.
